Kind of Blue || Original

I cannot believe how incredibly beautiful ,Wild Arum is, other names include Lords and Ladies and cuckoo pint! It’s so structurally impressive and grows in the shaded patches of woodland. I often find it is overlooked by the equally beautiful bluebell which flowers around the same time. I wanted the wild arum to be the main show and then framed by bluebells.
The image of the cuckoo pint is an original linocut which has been carved and hand-printed by Jennifer. The bluebells are painted with watercolours on archival watercolour paper. These images are then cut out and then added to the linoprint. Jennifer slices into the linoprint to then slide the watercolour pieces in. These images are then glued into position. This unique process enables Jennifer to combine the two mediums and give her work the same entwined feeling that nature creates.
