The oak in the print is one that I see every day on my daily dog walk. I was sat admiring the fresh blue bell leaves when I noticed the caterpillar dangling. I was struck by the vulnerability of it but also of how it might be the first meal of one of the noisy chicks that I could hear over head. It was a beautiful day the image came to me whilst I was in the woods - I went home and drew it out straight away. A perfect spring time tale.
Printed using Cranfield oil based inks on Somerset archival printmaking paper. Printed in a dark grey with a purple tint using a blend of inks. Each print is unique as each one is handprinted by me. This means that there may be small variations.
Size - paper size is 30cmx42cm Portrait.
