Wreathed by Bramble || Original
Original mixed media artwork.
The wreath captures the beauty of bramble in all season. There is a huge bramble patch right by our back garden and every year I am amazed by how much the bramble gives - food for birds, mice butterflies and a home to foxes, badgers, adders and dormice. What an incredible plant!
The image of the bramble wreath is an original linocut which has been carved and hand-printed by Jennifer. The peacock butterfly is painted with watercolours on archival watercolour paper. The butterfly is cut out and then added to the linoprint. Jennifer slices into the linoprint to then slide the watercolour pieces in. These images are then glued into position.
This unique process enables Jennifer to combine the two mediums and give her work the same entwined feeling that nature creates.
SIZE - The paper is 30cm x 30cm
